Memento Mori Quote Embroidered Artwork

“What I am you will be, What you are, I once was” is inspired by motifs created in the 1200s and 1500s. They reminded people of the presence of death and were found in Ossuaries and Charnel Houses across Europe.

This caption (replace "I" with "we") can still be found in some Ossuaries in Switzerland! They have been translated into many languages and different variants across Europe.

This piece comes framed and measures approx: 21cm x 14.8cm (A5).

All my original embroidery pieces are washed, pressed, and mounted before framing.
